MARCHING BAND AND COLOR GUARD
Fall 2000 Scores Fall 2000 Schedule
Welcome to the Marching Band and Colorguard Page. This year's show uses folk music from Bartok and Ives. We have just concluded the best season of Aliso Niguel's history. This season, we have won 3 sweepstakes awards, 2 first places, and a 4th place finish at Championships. We have experienced victories in all 5 captions (General Effect, Music, Visual, Colorguard, and Percussion). The students, staff, and parents have put out their greatest effort this year, and it has paid off with an outstanding season that we will all remember forever.
Students: I am amazed with your effort, dedication, and improvement that you have shown this year. This was a very difficult show, but your effort and trust in the staff allowed you perform at a very high level. One of my best memories was watching you perform at our last football game, and looking down on a quiet, full stadium. This is common at a competition, but rare at a football game. You captured the audience with your performance. You also led the division in ovations. This may be a better accomplishment than any victory you have had this year. I know many of you are disappointed with your 4th place finish (out of 36 bands) at Finals. The fact that you are disappointed with this awesome achievement only underscores the high level that you have performed at all year. I can't think of one thing that I wish we would have done differently. As I said in our "pow-wow" after the season, I can sum up the season in two words - NO REGRETS. If you can honestly say that (and you all can), then you have had an extremely successful season. You put your heart into this show, and I couldn't be more proud of any group of students than I am of you. GREAT JOB!!!
Parents: You have absolutely blown me away with your support this year. Because of your support, I have been able to focus my attention on the kids, work on my Masters, and see my family every once in a while. You have taken care of every detail that would otherwise take time away from my teaching. I am so thankful that during the Stockton trip, my only responsibility was the performances. From reservations, chaperones, food, etc., I was just along for the ride. I can't begin to express how much I appreciate that. I also couldn't believe the set-up you had for lunch and dinner in the parking lot! I left to go warm up the kids, and I came back to this huge tent with tables set up and hibachis blazing! There's not another parent group that compared to you. This has been a model support group, and I can't thank you enough for how smooth you have helped make this year be. The kid's performance and success this year is a direct result of your support. Thank You.
